Vintage Closet and Boudoir Giveaway (closed)

pic from thevintagehousewife
The last two apartments I have lived in were pretty old (1920s and currently 1884) and they both had very small closets in the bedroom. Being that my husband and I are hoping to eventually buy a 20s or 30s bungalow I have a feeling I will have a similar issue. Thusly, I am obsessed with how people organize their closets.

I LOVE it when I find an ad or picture in a vintage magazine that shows a bedroom closet or when I see an old movie that allows a peek at a boudoir. I am also inspired by modern closets, but vintage examples remind me of how little I really need for clothes, which is a good thing in my case.

So to have a little fun I am hosting a giveaway to feed my closet obsession. I will be giving away a vintage boudoir package to one lucky reader. The package will consist of a pair of padded hangers, 2 handmade ribbon sachets, a vintage hanky or lingerie bag, and a set of vintage shoe trees that have been personally "tarted" up by me. Plus there will be a surprise gift added based on the picture that wins.

What do you need to do to win?
-Leave a link (and your email) in the comments of this post to a picture of a bedroom closet with a vintage feel that inspires you and tell me what it is you like about it. Please make sure that you include where you found the picture so I can give the proper credit! If you don't give me the pic source you can't win because I like to play nice when using other people's content, k? You can take a picture of your own vintage inspired closet if you'd like and upload it to the web so you can link to it. Just make sure and let me know it is yours.

-You get one entry for every picture you send, but they have to be a different closet (no multiple views of the same closet). Also, once a link for a picture is left in the comments it can't be used again (so no multiple entries on a single picture).

-You get an extra entry per picture of any bedroom closet that is 1950s or earlier

-You get an extra entry if you blog about this giveaway. Make sure and leave me a direct link to the post in the comments to get credit.

- The giveaway ends Monday, Oct. 18th at midnight, central time. That gives you two whole weekends to find your pictures. The winner will be picked by random out of a hat and I will post it by Wednesday of the same week.

- The giveaway is open to anyone in the US and Canada. Anyone outside of that may enter but they will have to pay the difference in shipping to their country.

- Make sure to leave your email in your comments so I can contact you if you win!

Fun, yes? I hope so! I can't wait to see what inspires you!

The top closet with the vanity is the one that peaked my interest the most! The vintage knick knacks and details just set the vanity within this boudoir off! Completely timeless!

Here is my blog about my closet/dressing room , with 1940's furniture in an early 1900's addition on a Victorian house built in the 1870's.

Besides the luxury of an entire room as a closet, I love being surrounded by and inspired to wear my vintage finds.

Cheers!

What an inspiration!

This is my favorite room in the house. Red walls, soft lighting, vintage heaven. A place I can get away...My boudoir...

I was looking through Google and wound up finding this gem on The Vintage Housewife's "Vintage Housewife's Closet" (it appears on both of her blogs)

I love the look of astonishment on this woman's face! It's the same look I get when going through closets and storage bins at my grandma's place and find things from the 70's that she made. My living areas are littered with vintage decorative treasures.

(not to mention, I love how high up her closet seems to go... I want a closet that seems that massive)

My closet is more like this: mod and open (though, my doors are now removed and the photo just has glass doors).

Idealy, this is what I love in a closet as it's organized, open for easy access, and filled with pretty clothes that I can sit (on my bed) and look at because there are no stupid doors to block my view. (because why on earth would you want clothes tucked away out of sight?)

Ok, last photo inspiration... http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_TatPpSnJCYc/S1ODj7ev67I/AAAAAAAAGQY/izNzihyiUy0/s1600-h/closet+redo+008.jpg

As much as I love red and white (and black), I want this in blue and white for my open concept closet. I really think that if you put so much work into your closet (and the wardrobe), you should be able to see it and enjoy it as you would a piece of furnature or collection of what-not. So blue and white check interior with brown train cases to hold accessories to top it off.

The picture was from purestylehome.blogspot.com

This is my next project...as soon as I get another three-day weekend ;)

I love Dita Von Tesse's boudoir and closet, http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_J-Y5LJr8D3E/TI516uwwTMI/AAAAAAAABTg/lDc7dLj-dY4/s1600/dita1.jpg found here in an article about amazing closets http://www.thenewspaperdoll.com/2010/09/beautiful-closets.html . There really are some wonders in there! I really like hers because it harkens back to the days of the true boidoir feel, and just how fun it can be gettin all dolled up. Of course, everything she does just makes ya wanna get all purdy!

This is a fun one! Cluttered, just like mine, but full of girly things and elaborate costumes. Theres a ton of pictures to inspire a lil burlesque dance of your own! http://www.chinashopmag.com/2010/06/inside-a-burlesque-queen%E2%80%99s-closet/

Even though this is a child's closet, it incorporates my love for pink, my need for many places to store things, and a long curtain, which is so much more glamourous than doors! http://www.evadesigns.com/pics/Pink_Kid_Closet.jpg .
