Birthday Giveaway (closed)

(photo from pinkcakebox.com)

Saturday is my 39th birthday and I want to celebrate it with my awesome blog friends! I may not have mentioned this before, but I LOVE making custom hair pieces for people.  It's always a creative challenge to take someone's ideas and make them live through craft. I put a lot of love into each of my creations anyway, but there's always something extra in a custom piece because I have a person in mind when I make it. I also find it very relaxing to have a purpose when creating.

So- my birthday gift to myself is to give away a custom hair piece to one of my lucky readers. Here's how to enter:

Mandatory:
Leave a comment telling me what your dream hair accessory would look like- colors, trim, bling, movie you saw it in, anything that helps us to visualize it. Be as vivid as you can because if I like your description I will give you an extra entry! You MUST leave an email that I can contact you at if it is not publicly available through your profile.

For extra entries:
- Blog about this post and leave the link in your comment
- If you have purchased any blog specials (current or past), you automatically get TWO extra entries once you leave the mandatory comment above

The giveaway ends Tuesday, March 30th at midnight, central time. The giveaway is open to U.S. readers. International readers can enter if they are willing to pay for shipping.

p.s. I originally had the giveaway posted in the blog specials #4 post, but it was too confusing, so I've reposted here with extra time to enter.

I was hoping I would be the only one to enter so I could win. Dang! You should have let me dream a little longer.

I, too, am becoming addicted to swaps. I have been in 5 in the last month. I'm having a blast creating and receiving lovely spring things.

Have fun and enjoy your swaps.

♫ Happy Birthday to You, Happy Birthday to You ♫

What a lovely giveaway! :)

I am partial to the 1930s fascination with taking ordinary things and turning them into a wonder of fantasy (think Busby Berkeley). So, my dream hair ornament would incorporate a ridiculously large polka dot bow (watch for the giant gingham bows here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wx7ijVNZDhQ ), a martini glass shape or silhouette or actual miniature, and cherries... in pink or red, white or ivory, and black.

I'm off to post this swell giveaway on my blog - back in a bit with the link :)

Happy birthday my dear!

This is a wonderful giveaway, i have my fingers crossed! My dream hair accessory would start off with a black velvet fascinator base (don't know the proper name for it!), there would lashings of black and grey feathers that fall tantalisingly over my forehead, and for the showpiece there would be a bird (fake, obviously :) ) a black one, peeking out through the feathers. Perfect for the deadly femme fatale in me :)

Oh goodness! So many options! My dream hair accessory would be a fascinator with different sized (ranging from 1 to 2 1/2 inches in size)white and cream colored fabric roses in different fabrics and textures (like satin, velvet, cotton etc.) with pearls in between them. And, of course, white netting coming down over my eyes. :]

My dream hair accessory is eithier of pill box shape or beret shape and is black so I can wear it with everything and is covered with rhinestones or sparkles. Kind of like they are cascading out of one spot and dispersing all over the rest of the headpiece.

Also I love anything with viel, feathers, the colors black and red and of course lots of sparkly things.
